I'm inspired by the Green movement and this is what I have to say about it. I'm clueless when it comes to boy meets girl, and that's exactly how I feel about being GREEN. I'm not a writer and my "green" credentials are in the works. Whether you care to agree or disagree let me know your thoughts. Stay tuned to see what happens when Green Meets Girl;)

Bikeshare needs to travel to LA
While visiting one of my favorite cities I came across Bikeshare. The simple concept of renting a bike and returning it when you need to is so awesome! If only L.A. was this cool:) Washington DC, I heart you and your Bikeshare idea.

21 Day Adventure Cleanse- Day 2
I survived Day 1 and I'm ready for more. Some easy things I added to my day: Instead of driving to my neighbor Victoria's place I decided to walk and my positive affirmation today was "I'm stronger than I think." Also, this morning I drank a large glass of water with lemon and a hint of cayenne pepper, which is part of the cleanse. It's supposedly great for circulation and loaded with anti-oxidants. It's supposed to make you think clearer too... I'll get back to you on that one!

21 day Adventure Cleanse- Day 1
It's Day 1 of this cleanse from the book "Crazy Sexy Diet" and I'm giving it somewhat of a shot. It's pretty much everything you could think a cleanse would be. No sugar, cut out dairy and drink that so called "green juice." Also, incuding some food for thought based around spiritual awareness.
Since I like to take baby steps with just about everything I do, I thought I would start with the eliminating caffeine. Actually, not so fast. So, I didnt eliminate coffee, but I thought for the next 21-days I would only drink my coffee with no sugar. So far so good.
Also, during the next couple of weeks, I'm going to pay attention to Gluten-free items and incorporate it into my diet. My favorite Gluten-free bite of the moment are Pure Organic Bars in apple cinnamon.

Decoding your Chicken
This article by Family Circle really helped me make some sense of all the different labels we may come across when purchasing poultry...
Decoding Poultry Labels
Free Range: A USDA-regulated designation, meaning only that the bird had access to the outdoors.
Farm Raised: Usually refers to chickens raised on a local farm, but technically all are raised on a farm of some sort.
Certified Organic: All feed given to the birds must be certified organic—it doesn't contain chemical fertilizers, pesticides, animal by-products, or other additives.
Natural: The most commonly used label has nothing to do with standards of care, type, or quality; it simply indicates no additives or preservatives were added after the poultry was processed.
Hormone-Free: Irrelevant—no artificial hormones are used in any poultry production.
Raised Without Antibiotics: Medications not classified as antibiotics may still be used.

Hybrid Taxi or not
The most interesting conversations I have had with people have been taxi drivers. While in San Francisco I was told by a Taxi Driver that by 2012 all drivers will only be able to operate if they are driving a hybrid. However, hybrids may not be the most accommodating for a city that is rather hilly???

Make a GREENER choice at the W Hotel
Recently I stayed at the W hotel in San Francisco and I was excited to hear that by forgoing housekeeping during my stay I would be awarded 5,000 points towards the SPG reward program. They refer to this as "Make a green choice". Also, if you need to valet with them its complimentary if you have a hybrid vehicle. W Hotel San Fran... I heart you!

Forks Over Knives
"The feature film Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the
degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present
menu of animal-based and processed foods" ~ www.forksoverknives.com
