Why does reducing our carbon footprint have to be so complicated? My roommate ordered herself a new pair of UGG's online and although most of the packaging is recyclable, why even package it at all? Yes, it's very excessive. As I learned in Sustainable Works, we tend to be pacified by the knowledge that things are biodegradeable, yet unless we actually compost the stuff it will go into a landfill where it will sit for thousands of years. We're an excessive culture, aren't we?
