About Nori's Eco Salon:
LA's first full service "green" Hair Salon, Nori's Eco Salon is an alternative salon business dedicated to green living which is all about promoting wellness for our clients and our one and only planet. They do this by creating an environment that is toxic free. Everything from the paint on the walls, floor coverings, insulation, to the products they use on their clients is carefully evaluated to make sure they have the least impact on our planet's already fragile resources. The owners, Nori, and her daughters Roya, and Roza have been serving the community for the last 20 years. They have extensive experience in the art of hair cutting, coloring, make up and other services offered. Nori's Eco Salon is also a distributor for a line of professional non-toxic hair colors in California. The colors are available for retail and wholesale.

The intention is to support the growth of green businesses and lifestyles through networking and sharing information about green living, products and services. This is a great chance to mix with other like-minded people, share info, make friends, and do business.
Bring some friends and meet other community members who are interested in leading Woodland Hills and the surrounding area toward a more sustainable future. We meet on the third Wednesday of every month from 6:00-8:00 PM Contact: Tanya Peel at info [at] allgreenthings.com
I'm inspired by the Green movement and this is what I have to say about it. I'm clueless when it comes to boy meets girl, and that's exactly how I feel about being GREEN. I'm not a writer and my "green" credentials are in the works. Whether you care to agree or disagree let me know your thoughts. Stay tuned to see what happens when Green Meets Girl;)

Play-Dough goes ECO
When I was little, heck even to this day, I believe Play-Dough was one the best crafts ever invented. I mean who could resist endless, shape able, soft texture putty? My pal Florido B. introduced me to Eco-dough because it's what his son plays with in school. ECO-FRIENDLY putty that is safe to eat, where was this when I was in elementary school? Visit Eco-kidsusa.com if you have little ones in your life and are looking for alternative, non-toxic art supplies for them. Adults can partake in this too.
Eco-dough ingredients:eco-dough is a molding dough handmade with flour, salt, cream of tartar, organic rosemary oil, vitamin E oil, canola oil, coconut oil, potassium sorbate, citric acid, natural and organic fruit, plant and vegetable extracts from beets, spinach, paprika, carrots, purple sweet potato, red cabbage, blueberries and tomatoes. *Gluten free, made with rice, banana or potato flour is also available. Please check our product list for gluten free eco-dough.

The Beehive and the Hairball
After hours of research on what salons all over the world are doing to be more eco-friendly I came across this essay. The Beehive and the Hairball created by Franke James. The essay is an illustration in regards to the procees of getting your hair colored and the toll it takes on the environment. Worth the time checking out. Clever and original! www.frankejames.com

Fashionable Earth
What? Being GREEN and fashionable? Sign me up. My gal pal Teresa B. introduced me to this organization and I'm super impressed. They put on this event called a CLOTHING SWAP to reduce wasteful consumptions by reusing apparel. Get your calendars out because this is something I'm very interested in hosting early spring. www.fashionableearth.org

THE ECO LUXE LIFE
I'm so glad that I went to the Green Expo over the weekend because it introduced me to my new one stop shop for Eco Living. My purchasing ranges from beauty products, to Eco Chic, to products for men and pets. The best part is that you can do all your shopping online. The even cooler thing is that part of there membership program is a 4 time a year sampling program. This is perfect for me because I'm what some might call a product-wh$re. Check them out at theecoluxelife.com "the eco life is the luxury life".

Eco Spa at home
If you can't go to the spa, why not bring the spa to your home. Even if you have the luxury of sneaking away, I'm a firm believer in at-home-maintenance. I recently purchased the "renew herbal steam" from Golden Path Alchemy. So simple to use and I felt renewed in a matter of minutes. How to:
-add hot water in a non-metallic bow, add in the herb mix,
-put a towel over your head and the bowl (this is what captures the steam)
- place your head above the steam and relax for 5-15 mins.
TIP: You can drink the water (tea) after your facial or add it in a spray bottle and you have a revitalizing facial spray.
End your weekend, with a mini-steam facial and you'll feel great!
